The Consulate of Italy can issue “Statutory Declarations" and "Power of Attorney" valid for Italy only for Italian citizens resident of Sindh and Baluchistan (art. 28, comma 1, D.lgs. n. 71/2011.

- NOTARY SERVICES PAKISTANI CITIZENS


The Consulate of Italy in Karachi cannot authenticate the signatures nor can issue the power of attorney or proxies in favour of Pakistani Citizens.


However, a Pakistani citizen who intends to authenticate his signature on a “Statutory Declaration” , a "Power of Attorney" or Proxy valid for Italy must :


1) Prepare an appropriate “Statutory Declaration” , Power of Attorney by the Pakistani Notary Public, addressed for Italy in English language or even in Urdu for those who are unable to provide it in English.

2) Furthermore, one must attest the signature of the Notary Public from the MOFA- Ministry of Foreign Affairs- Camp Office in Karachi and must translate it into the Italian language from one of the authorised translators. If the document is written in Urdu it must be translated first in English and than in Italian language.

3) The document that has been signed by the Notary Public, attested by the MOFA and translated into the Italian language will be delivered to The Consulate of Italy in Karachi. Upon receiving the documents the Consulate will evaluate and will work on the legalization process and the “Statutory Declaration”, "Power of Attorney" or Proxy that could be utilized in Italy.
